Abantia has completed the construction and supply of a plant for the generation of electricity using residual heat sources at Almendralejo gas compression station. Furthermore, we have been awarded the contract for a bottoming cycle for the same plant.

The installation has two main units: a thermal recovery unit comprising five thermal recovery boilers, which exchange heat with a second OEC power generation unit.

The plant, the first of these characteristics in Spain, allows the recovery of excess thermal energy from the compression process at Almendralejo station, absorbing fluctuations from the process itself and gas distribution demands, and allowing the production of electrical energy to be optimised in relation to other conventional technology designs.
