Energy powerplant project, in EPC mode, for the supply of electrical and thermal energy, in the form of steam for laundromats, sanitary hot water (SHW) and cold water for air-conditioning, in the group of tourist hotels located on adjacent plots of land in the region of Punta Cana, close to Higüey in the Dominican Republic.

Specifically, the hotels being supplied with energy are: Meliá Paradisus, Princess Bávaro, Occidental Flamenco and the three Fiesta hotels: Bávaro, Beach and Palace.

The power plant allows all of the hotels complete autonomy in terms of energy use. The installed electrical power is 10.8 Mw, with associated steam generation of 6.8 Ton/h and hot water 2.6 Mw.

• 3.4 ton/hr at 6 bars, Pirotubular steam boiler.
• Cold water 793 kW single-effect absorption machine, generating cold water for air-conditioning.
• Six 482 kW screw compressors for generating cold water for air-conditioning.
• Refrigeration system comprising 3 open towers.
• Water treatment: nominal capacity of 25 m3/hr.
• Fuel storage park: capacity of 500 m3.
• Cogeneration unit.
• Installed power: two 3,630 kW motogenerator units.
• Motogenerator units: MAN B&W 18V28/32H.
• Fuel: fuel oil (with the possibility of diesel).
• Generated voltage: 6.6 kV at 60 Hz.
